The Kyrgyzstan National Museum of History was established in 1925 in Bishkek. The museum is a huge stone structure, and many valuable items which are related to the history of the Kyrgyzstan Silk Road and the former Soviet Union were in storage
首都ビシュケクにあるキルギス国立歴史博物館は1925年の設立。巨大な石造りの建物の中にはキルギス古代のシルクロードと旧ソ連の歴史に関する貴重なものが収蔵されています

The museum is a three-story of stone-built building with a central atrium. The venue of Yoshida's solo exhibition and Kanie's screening was on the 3rd floor, and a concert was also held there.
3階建ての建物内もすべて石造り。中央は吹き抜けに なっています。吉田先生の個展、蟹江さんの上映会場は3階にあり、そこで演奏会も行われました。

The lectures of Yoshida and Kanie were held in the theater room on the first floor. Many people came to listen to them after the concert at the opening ceremony.
お二人の講演会は1階にあるシアタールームで。オープニング・セレモニーの演奏会が終了後にたくさんの皆さんが集まってくれました。

The director of Kyrgyzstan National Museum of History came and visited the exhibition hall. He was very pleased with the events which were related to Fukushima.
キルギス国立歴史博物館の館長さんがご挨拶に来てくださいました。今回、被災地や福島の写真作品とドキュメンタリー映画の上映、講演会もあることをとても喜んでくださっていました。

Many people came to see Yoshida’s solo exhibition, even before the opening ceremony. It was impressive that everyone took the time to read his artist’s statement and saw his artworks.
吉田先生の個展会場にはオープニング・セレモニーの前から多くの方が来てくださっていました。どの方も熱心に作品やステートメントをじっくりご覧になっていたのが印象的でした。

Kanie was happy that many people came and watched her documentary film, "The message from Fukushima - nevertheless, we live here"
蟹江さんの制作したドキュメンタリー映画『福島から のメッセージーそれでも私たちはここで生きていく』 も熱心にご覧になってくださる方々がたくさんいらして嬉しかったです。

An art director of the Degdar Foundation, who was also a pianist was the ceremony’s MC.
司会をしてくださったのはデグダル財団のアートディ レクターであり、ピアニストとしても活躍されている方でした。

Laura, the director of the Degdar Foundation, has a detailed knowledge of music and also is interested in art in general. She dedicates herself to charity activities for children.
デグダル財団のディレクターのラウラさんはもちろん 音楽に造詣は深いですが、アート全般に興味を持たれて、子どものための慈善活動もされています。

The Ambassador of Japan in Kyrgyzstan also came to visit us. After the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami, he was involved in various activities as a volunteer. He said he looked forward to the exhibition this time.
在キルギスタン日本大使も来てくださいました。東北大震災後にはボランティアとしてさまざまな活動もされていたので、今回の展示をぜひ見たいと来てくださいました。

Yoshida also gave a speech as a representative of Japan. He talked about traditional Japanese culture. “We start a thing with bowing and end with bowing” is a good example of the Japanese way of thinking. He explained taking sumo as an example.
吉田先生も日本を代表してご挨拶。「礼に始まって礼に終わる」相撲の取り組みなどを例にして、日本の伝統文化について語りました。

Many people listened intently to Yoshida's talk. As Kyrgyzstan is a part of the Asian region, they were interested in Japan.
吉田先生の話しに聞き入る方が多く、同じアジア圏である日本に対して、興味を持ってくださっていることがとても伝わってきました。

60 pieces of Yoshida’s artworks, selected from his three projects, “ A Border for a Prayer, One Minute Story ”, “ The Sea Wall - hope or despair “, and “ Message from Fukushima. Embracing Despair, Discovering Peace “ were exhibited. The title of his solo exhibition was “Bridge Over Troubled Water “.

The Concerts have been held since 2011 and admission is free. Many people look forward to the event every year, which means people in Kyrgyzstan have a great concern for art.
2011年から開催されてきたコンサートは無料。 毎年楽しみにしている方がとても多く、アートへ の関心の高さが伺われます。

From 2011 to 2021, the Degdar Foundation held 30 concerts in countries in Central Asia, and over 20,000 people in total came to the concert.
デグダル財団は2011年から2021年までに30コンサートを中央アジアの国々などで開催し、参加した延べ観客数は2万人以上と紹介されていました。

Yoshida usually prints out his artwork all by himself, however, we had to ask staff members in Kyrgyzstan to print out Yoshida’s artwork this time. They were not the same as the original prints of Yoshida, but the local staff members made great efforts and did everything they could.
今回はプリントは現地でやっていただくしか方法 がなく、いつものように吉田先生の手で仕上げたものではありませんが、できる範囲で頑張って展示してくださいました。

Most of the visitors were young women, but many people, regardless of age and gender, came to the event.
若い女性のご来場者がいちばん多かったですが、 小さなお子さんからご高齢の方まで男女問わずいろんな方々がお越しくださっていました。

They read the artist’s statement with great interest as well as the photos. They seemed very interested in the concept behind the artwork.
写真だけでなく、熱心にステートメントを読まれていて、作品の背景にあるコンセプトにとても興味を持ってくださっていることがわかります。

At the lecture, Yoshida talked about various topics such as nature, Buddhist statues, Japanese paintings, and martial arts, which were the basis of the project's ideas and expressions.
講演会ではプロジェクトの発想や表現の基にとなっている日本文化について、自然、仏像、日本画、武道などさまざまなお話をされていました。

While showing a promotional video of the artist’s statement of his three projects, he also gave a detailed explanation of his projects.
展示された3つのプロジェクトのアーティストステートメントを伝えるためのプロモーション動画を見せながら、詳しい解説もしてくださいました。

After the lecture, Yoshida signed autographs and took pictures with visitors. He also responded to all the questions about the current lives of the people in Fukushima from the audience. The lecture was a great success with excitement.
講演会後は写真撮影やサインのリクエストにお応えしながら、被災地の方々の現在の暮らしに関する質問もたくさんいただいた熱い講演会になりました。

Kanie's documentary film, "Message from Fukushima" was screened at one corner of Yoshida's exhibition venue. The film was constantly screened during the one-week exhibition.
蟹江さんのドキュメンタリー映画『福島からのメッセージ』が上映されたのは吉田先生の展覧会場の一角。1週間の展覧会の間、常時流されました。

Another video of which related to Yoshida’s three projects that Kanie created was shown as well so that visitors could see the background of the artwork.
ディスプレイには蟹江さんが制作した吉田先生の3 つのプロジェクトに関する動画も流され、写真作品の背景を見ていただけるようになっていました。

At the lecture in the theater room, she told how people in Fukushima live strongly now. It’s been 10 years since the nuclear accident and they were forced to evacuate due to the nuclear accident at that time.
シアタールームでの講演会では原発事故によって避難 を余儀なくされながらも10年後の今、前向きに生きている人々のお話をしていただきました。

What Kanie felt during the filming was "everyone has their stories because every one of them has survived and conquered hardships."
映画撮影をしながら、蟹江さんが感じたのは「大変な出来事を乗り越えた人だからこそ全員が伝えるべき言葉を持っていたこと」だという。

Students who listened to the lecture gave us unexpectedly kind words, saying, "I am grateful that the people in Fukushima are alive and live well. Please tell them our thoughts.”
講演会を聞いてくれた学生たちからは「福島の人々が元気で生きていることに感謝します。それを福島の皆さんに伝えてください」と思いもよらない優しい言葉をいただきました。

Kanie is currently filming the second movie along with Yoshida's ongoing Fukushima project. She said, "I will keep making movies of people living positively and show them to many people.”
吉田先生の続けている福島撮影とともに、映画の第二弾を撮影中の蟹江さん。「これからも前向きに生きることの素晴らしさを伝えていきたい」と語られました。
