Liberation of Memory / 記憶の解放
The place I once shared with my father in my childhood remained unchanged, even as the decades slipped by. Yet, as I stood before that familiar landscape, what surfaced were memories of my father’s stern reproach and of myself, struggling to carve out my own path back then. Now, fifty years later, I return, camera in hand, gazing through the lens at the same scene—yet it takes on a different meaning. With each press of the shutter, I find myself releasing who I was, even as I search for answers that still elude me. And until those answers come, I know this journey will continue.

幼少期、父と共に過ごしたあの場所は、長い年月を経ても変わらずにそこにあった。しかし、その風景が私に呼び起こしたのは、父からの厳しい叱責と、自分の道を模索し続けたあの頃の記憶だった。50年後の今、再びその場所を訪れ、カメラを手にレンズ越しに見つめると、過去と同じ景色が異なる意味を帯びて映りはじめた。シャッターを切るたびに、私はあの頃の自分を解き放ちながら、未だ見ぬ答えを追い求めている。その答えが見つかるまで、この旅を歩み続けるだろう。
