Profile

I had been involved with computer development and started taking pictures of the process for the record. And besides the work, I took pictures of seasonally blooming trees and flowers because I was so attracted by them. By giving my full attention to the object deeply, which I saw and impressed by, my eyes through my mind are opened. Thanks to the fine art photography, I learned to express my philosophy of life in the artworks. Since then, I have tried to sympathize with the broken or decayed materials’ feelings as seeing them with the eyes of my mind and express them in my artworks. Everything is vanity but that’s why they are beautiful. There, I feel the air of dignity. By capturing the transient nature of life in my photographs, I hope I can prolong their time even it’s a short time, and I also hope people can feel their existence.

活動履歴
コンピュータ開発に従事しそのプロセスを記録として撮影。その傍らで、四季折々の草花や野鳥など自然の美しさ魅せられてシャッターを切った。しかし、見たものや心動かされた対象と深く向き合うことで、自分の心の目が開かれてくる。ファインアート写真との出会いによって、私はそんな自分の生き方に関わるような表現ができることを知った。
それ以後、私は壊れたり朽ちていくものを心の目で表現することに取り組む。形あるものはすべて移ろい消失するという宿命にあるが、そこには美しさや威厳が満ちているからだ。私は移ろう姿を捉えることで少しでも存在する時間を長らえ、そのものの存在を感じてもらいたい。

Projects

What I’m always impressed by is “disappearing things”. They are abandoned, forgotten and eventually, they will be disappearing. Artifacts will be broken and eventually disappear. Animals and plants will be gone from this world due to weathering or disaster. In any case, many of things gain speed toward disappearing when they are considered to be useless. But only a few people think they are useless. For me, every broken chairs or dead leaves are beautiful. I think they are appealing for their existence loudly because they are ignored. Like the wind leaves a mark on somewhere after blowing, things that disappear try to prove their existence. I want to express their words in my photography.

私が心動かされるのは「消えつつあるもの」である。棄てられ、忘れ去られ、やがてはなくなっていくもの。人工物であれば壊れて消失し、自然であれば風化や災害によって姿を消すのだろうか。いずれにしても、消えゆくものの多くは無用のものと見做されることによって、無へと向かうスピードを上げる。しかし、無用と判断したのは何人かの人間にすぎない。なおかつ私には壊れゆく椅子も枯葉も美しく見える。無視されることで逆にものたちは自らの心の叫びを声高に放っているようにも感じられる。風が吹き去ってもどこかに痕跡を残すように、朽ちながら時を重ねるものたちもその存在の証を謳っている。私は彼らのそんな言葉を表現したい。
