Graduated from the Department of Photography, College of Art, Nihon University in 1979
Joined the Photography Department of the Editorial Department of the Chunichi Shimbun Tokai Headquarters in 1981
Retired from the Chunichi Shimbun Tokai Headquarters in 2019
Received the Tokyo Governor's Award for "Red-crowned Crane" at the 50th Japan
Representational Art Association Exhibition in 2023
Held a solo exhibition, "Blue Sky," at Ginza COCO PHOTOSALON in 2024

Projects

We believe that we are part of nature, and that it is within its cycles that our true selves can fully bloom. Every living being holds a story of evolution, and in each of these stories, I feel there is something sacred. Humanity and nature are inseparable. We learn much from nature, and as we walk alongside it, we continue to evolve together.
"Where do we come from, and where are we headed?"—I search for answers to this timeless question within the harmony and evolution I find in nature as I create my work.
For me, photography is not merely a record. I value ideas and discoveries that break free from conventional thinking, while keeping in my heart the deep “connections” between people, nature, and the divine. Believing in the magic that photography holds, I press the shutter in moments when hearts truly meet.

私たちは自然の一部であり、その循環の中でこそ、本来の自分らしさが花開くと信じています。すべての命には進化の物語があり、その一つひとつの営みに、神聖なものが宿っていると感じています。人も自然も切り離せない存在です。私たちは自然からたくさんのことを学び、共に歩みながら進化していくのではないでしょうか。「私たちはどこから来て、どこへ向かうのか？」この永遠の問いを、自然との調和や進化の中に探しながら、作品づくりをしています。私にとって、写真は単なる記録ではありません。これまでの常識にとらわれない発想や発見を大切にしながら、人と自然、そして神様との「つながり」を心に秘めています。写真が持つ魔法を信じ、心が通い合う瞬間を大切にしながら、シャッターを切っています。
